Baby Cameron Matthew Tanner

Born 12:58 AM on September 18, 2009.
6lb 6 oz, 19 inches

Little Cameron held out until early, early this morning to begin his journey in life. Little Cameron "decided" to (literally) show his face just a couple minutes before one in the morning (exactly two weeks and two minutes younger than his closest cousin). The labor took a little more than an hour, but was pretty smooth going and without any complications. Cameron is beautiful - he has long dark hair, deep dark eyes, , a hospital subscribed Mohawk, long fingers, long toes, and well...a long slender body in general. In Camille's words, "he's just the cutest baby I've ever seen!" Camille is doing great, a little sleepy and a little soar, but quickly recovering. Being a part of the birth of this little miracle was truly a time-stopping moment and holding him for his first couple of hours was surreal (with Camille completely conked out...I got him all to myself for the first couple of hours).

Update 10:45 PM

Time seems like it is flying.  We have now been in hospital for about 5 hours and are making lots of progress.  Camille is 8 cm's dilated and having strong and consistent contractions.  The Doctors are planning to start pushing in about 45 minutes and hope to have the baby within a hour or so of that time.  That being said it is still up in the air as to whether the baby will come before midnight or first thing tomorrow morning.

The time is near and parents are in route...wish us luck.

Happy Birthday (hopefully)

Well, its official.  We are about to become parents!  I started having contractions today around 1:30, shortly after my membranes were stripped.  It wasn't too long before they were getting regular and we were in the doctor's office.  We got to the hospital around 6:00 pm, got situated, got my epidural and then my water broke on its own.  The doctor came in to finish breaking it since it only partially broke.  Now we are just waiting for things to progress.  Last they checked I was a 5 and the doctor said maybe sometime between 12 am and 2 am we would have a baby!  We do know that it could be shorter or longer than that, but it gives us something to focus on!  Right now we are both feeling excited, tired, and a little nervous.  I can't believe this day is finally here!  We will keep you posted.

37 and a half!

Matt wanted to take a picture of my growing belly, in case it was the last. Unfortunately, I was on my way to work and not feeling too cooperative, so this is the best he could get.

Heavy Weights

This is what happens when you decide to have a Sunday afternoon picnic on top of your car...

Don't worry, we eventually got it back to normal.

Samuel Gene Brown

Samuel Gene Brown was born on September 4, 2009. He is so cute, and such a good looking little baby! Welcome to the family Sammy!

Baby Shower!

My awesome co-workers Rosalyn and Janeth threw me the greatest baby shower. The whole thing was a surprise, and if you know me, you know it is really difficult to surprise me, so they did a great job! They had my supervisor Judi plan a fake meeting with me...which I totally fell for. Thanks to everybody at work. We got so many great gifts and now we are totally set for this little guy. Now if he could just hurry a little...

Not a lovely picture of me, I know...but, this is my moment of surprise!

Matt even came and brought some gorgeous flowers!
One cake was made for me, and one for Matt

Don't worry, I'm not trying it on for myself.

This was our cart of goodies at the end. Thanks everybody!

Whoops

I realized that I should probably clarify so people aren't confused. In the picture of my family camping and the three prego girls, one is my mom, NO she is definitely not pregnant...just a little joke. Sorry I failed to explain that...

In case anybody is interested...

Here is our nursery. It is simple, but we love it! It was Matt's great idea to put the quilt on the wall as a decoration, and it is so cute! It is hard to take a picture of the entire room, so I tried to get the best angles I could. Enjoy!
